Auckland War Memorial Museum
The Auckland Domain, Parnell, Auckland
The NZALT Biennial Conference | FIPLV World Congress Dinner will take place Under the Dome of the Auckland War Memorial Museum. The Museum is one of Auckland’s premier event locations with its striking neo-classical architecture and majestic columns. See the registration page for the dinner ticket price.
The Museum is a 10-minute walk from Newmarket, a 10-minute walk from Parnell, and a 35-minute walk from Auckland’s city centre. Walking from the conference venue (Owen G Glenn Building) to the museum in 20 minutes is possible – note that the walk involves a reasonably steep hill.
The bright amber OuterLink buses go from/to the University to/from the Museum via Parnell. Buses run every 12 to 15 minutes, from 6 am to midnight. You will need an Auckland Transport (AT) HOP card to use them.
There is some free parking, subject to availability, in the Auckland Domain. Please note that during busy periods such as school holidays, public holidays and weekends it may be difficult to find a carpark at the Museum or in the Domain. You can park for a flat fee of $10 for the evening, from 5pm until the end of the event.
Taxi and ridesharing are convenient and reliable ways to get from the conference venue to the dinner venue. Uber, Ola, DriveHer, Waka Rider, Co-seats and Lyft are some of the popular rideshare apps operating in New Zealand.
